Manually unistall K9 Web Protection

If you have forgotten your K9 password, you can remove it manually - 

go to C:\Program Files\Blue Coat K9 Web Protectionclick once on license
then press delete button
go to http://www.k9webprotection.com/download/k9-webprotection.exe
then press run
press next
click i agree
click next
go to http://www1.k9webprotection.com/getk9/index.php
fill the form in
then check your email if you've got the license 
then copy and paste the license into the installation
click next
then create your own password
then click next
click install
then it has the part where it says error opening file for writing.....
you click ignore
then go to manually reboot later
go to start
go to all programs
go to where it says blue coat k9 web protection
go to uninstall
click yes
then type the password that you made before
then reboot now
and voila...you uninstalled it

To disable K9 Web Protection, follow these steps:

1. Go to the website and download the K9 Web Protection Installer for your system (64bit, or 32bit)

2. Let it download, and instead of clicking "Run" Click "Save" and save it to a location of your choosing.

3. Right click your "My Computer" icon, then click "Properties". When that window opens up click on the"Hardware" tab, then click "Device Manager" when the next window opens.

4. Click the "View" tab at the top of the Device Manager, then click "Show Hidden Devices".

5. Then look for "Non-Plug and Play Drivers" and open up that tree. Then find the device called, "bckd". Right click it, and then click "Disable"
6. A message will pop up telling you to reboot your PC, do so.

7. After it boots up, there should be a message down in the right corner saying "K9 Web Protection has become Corrupted" or something similar. This is good :).

8. Before you can surf the internet, go to wherever you saved the K9 Installer from steps 1 and 2, and run the installer.

9. It should just pop up with a message asking you to update K9 web protection, click "Yes" and for the next message that pops up, click "Ok"

10. Wait a little bit, and then you can got to any Website.

11. To re-enable K9 Web Protection, just go back to the device manager and re-enable "bckd".

Upgrading to R 3.1.1 on Windows

If you are using Windows you can easily upgrade to the latest version of R using the installr package. Simply run the following code:

# installing/loading the latest installr package: install.packages("installr"); require(installr) #load / install+load installr   updateR()

After running “updateR()”, the function will detect that R is available for you, and will download+install it (etc.).

Converting the repository 

Mercurial come with an extension called “convert” that does just that: converting a non-Mercurial repository into a Mercurial repository.

First, the new Mercurial repository must be created (Windows commands work the same way):

Решение проблемы с визуализацией в yap:

• When you see the file in YAP viewer, go to view->render and change it to "dvips" 
• In YAP viewer goto view->options->display->default render method and change it to Dvips 

Here are a few possible explanations: 

 (1) The tex executable has a bug. 
 (2) The DVI viewer has a bug. 
 (3) The DVI viewer's configuration file (if any) contains 
     an error (this is really a subitem of (1) unless one 
     edits that file oneself). 
 (4) The DVI file has become corrupted. 
 (5) The DVI file contains a \special not recognized 
     by the DVI viewer (or not in the format expected). 

I have encountered all of these. I see (5) on a regular 
basis and ignore it. But I have also induced (3) more 
than a few times through experimentation (with an old 
viewer called windvi). I have seen (4) in downloaded 
files, and have reported bugs in class (1) and (2) a couple 
of times over the years. 

However, with all the different TeX engines around now, 
I suppose it is also possible a "non-standard" DVI file 
could be created by one of them, and that a viewer might 
have a problem with that. 

Finally, if a viewer needs to read a .map file for fonts, 
it might encounter an invalid line in it. It is also 
conceivable mktexpk might be reporting an error in bitmap 
font generatio

  How to change language setting of R on Windows

  I read FAQ on CRAN, but it was a bit confusing to a novice like me.  So here is the screenshot.  First, go to the "etc" folder under R program files folder.  Then locate Rconsole file. Find the line "language =  ", change it to "language = en"  if you want to run R in English. Save the file. Windows (I am using Windows 7.)  told me that I have no permission to change the Rconsole file and that I should contact the administrator. Thank you. !  I am the administrator/user.  I had to right click on the Rconsole file icon, select Property and grant a permission to modify the file to myself, the user.
